This is my first time doing a critique on here, so bare with me
This piece is lovely but I can't help from draw away from your focal point (either the person or the waterfall) to the trees. They have a really intense gold highlight to it and stands out more than the focal point.
Also, where is this light coming from? There is no highlight on any other part of the drawing but the trees and its roots.
Again, this is a LOVELY piece, I just thought I'd let you you know I understand if you do not agree with me! Cause who'd want their art to be criticized? ;
as always kate-fox, i am intrigued by your artwork. i love this piece in particular, and it shows so much dedication, looking at this i can see so many different aspects...
i love the trees so much, as well as the ripple effect in the water. looking more into this piece i can see motes, a frog, small crevasses and highlights as well as a foreground, mid-ground and background; which i think has been executed quite nicely. i specifically love the attention to detail especially in the trees and roots, leaves mid/backgrounds etc.
overall, it is a great piece and worth my fav as well as many others. im impressed, and this looks to be one of my favourite pieces of yours. awesome work dude :3
This is very impressive. Nothing beats the feel of adventure, especially in the wilderness. This is a beautiful and great depiction of what it feels to make the most of it. Journey's are filled with mysteries and excitements. Never knowing what to expect, yet eager to venture to places to discover new things and wonders. Your OC's expression reminds me of how I feel also. I love to explore whenever I have the chance to do so. I was never much of a city person to begin with. XD
Anyway, I'm also reminded of your other drawing about the rich inner world. Just as I see this pic before me, I am mentally there, experiencing the wonders. determined to grab the next vine to swing across and climb that mountain just to see what's on the other side of it, and what I'll find when I get there. It's like noticing your OC from a distance, and wanting to greet you as a fellow explorer. Overall a very beautiful art work.
