I’ve always avoided alcohol. I simply don’t like the taste, as well as the people addicted to strong drinks.
But Vajack was the only person on my mind capable to make you have a drink, no matter who you are or where you are. You simply can’t say “no” to him. So no matter what’s your mood, how thirsty you are, or if you even like alcohol at all, this devilish dwarf would just sit by your side, intending to buy you a glass of beer, and the next morning you’ll wake up with a headache instead of memories.
I have no idea how he does that still. According to Vajack, he simply won that ability at cards, thus loosing something of higher value. Which he, of course, regretted later, but only to the point when he had realized what kind of treasure fell into his hands.
So whenever Vajack drinks it gets fun and cozy. Boredom and routine immediately leave any place where the damn dwarf decides to have a pint or two. But it can’t be compared with those times when we drink together.
If Vajack decides to have a drink with me – hell breaks loose all around us. At one of those occasions I could learn who Vajack really is. He confessed to me.
He didn’t care of who I was, because he had figured the reason for all my troubles in no time and, nevertheless, never tried to get any profit of it. And for that I am grateful. Eventually my friend simply continued to keep an eye on me staying unseen and offering a glass of Skivian honey or pretty expensive Eirol cider from time to time. And as before, I had to learn all the details of the previous night from those who witnessed it, getting a “charming” blush in the process.
